'Eiko' sure looks a lot like Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII...

 April 1st, 2000 - With Final Fantasy IX set to be the biggest videogame release ever, it seems logical that some large company is going to cash in on the inevitable hype - and who better than Coca Cola? Starting from today, Japanese television will be flooded with a new Coca Cola commercial showing Zidane, Steiner, VIVI and, perhaps, a new character?

If you watch the commercial closely, you will notice a as yet unidentified character joining in the chase after the magic bottle top (see picture above). Some sources claim that this is in fact a main female character in Final Fantasy IX called Eiko, but we all know how reliable 'sources' on the internet are... We'll keep you posted.

The commercial itself shows a magic Coca-Cola bottle top going through a village square, turning everything into a carnival as it goes. Zidane, Eiko (?) and VIVI pursuit the bottle top and end up on the rooftops! The colourful nature of the commercial reflects the 'warm' feel that Square intends to give out with IX, as opposed to the 'cold' Final Fantasy VII.

Zidane chases a magic Coca-Cola bottle top that's on the run through the village streets. Steiner stands with some guards who feel the magic of the bottle top. Zidane looks on as the bottle top struts its stuff. The magic top turns this market man into a fire-breathing-carnival-type-person! Zidane, Eiko and VIVI take to the rooftops to chase the bottle top.
